There are three types of collaborations with Sevas Centre for Sustainable Rural Technologies (SCSRT).

  1. Associate Organizations: Associate organizations are part of SCSRT team and provide external help, services, and support. Organizations wish to participate in SCSRT as the associate organisation can mail the list of services to Associate Organizations have to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SCSRT. The MOU should include a clause that "Department or Organizations should promote at-least 20% of Sustainable Rural Technology Projects". The members of the Associate organization are encouraged to generate income with the help of SCSRT. Members present in Associate Organizations can provide services to SCSRT clients. Members will also be giving specific industrial training after taking Associate Organizational Membership.  
  2. Donors: Donor organizations provide external help, services and support along with financial assistance. Donors can take up any specific services by providing financial support. Email to for becoming a Donor organization.
  3. Partner: Organizations collaborate with SCSRT for providing specific services. Organizations have signed a Non Disclosure Agreement.

How to select which type of membership? 

Donor Organization Membership: Currently SCSRT will not give Donor Organization Status to any organization. Applications will not be accepted for this type of Membership.

Partner Organization: Interested entrepreneurs, who wish to start industry can take Partner Organization Membership. SCSRT will help all partner organizations to market their product and will assist in product development technologies. HELP should not be mistaken for a buyback. As the quality will be maintained from the beginning of the industry, Sevas Educational Society will help in bringing customers to the Partner Organizations. Already existing organisations cannot take Partner Organization Membership.

Associate Organizations: Any organisation can become associate organisation by signing MOU with SCSRT. The members of the Associate Organization has to earn money with the help of services provided by SCSRT. Members present in the Associate Organization will be benefited through consultancy fee generated through SCSRT services or own services.      

What is the difference between Associate Organization and Partner Organization?

List of services offered by associate organizations will be displayed in SCSRT website. SCSRT will direct the clients to Associate Organization for execution of the service. The associate organization will be responsible for the implementation of the service. Members of the associate organization will be trained with advanced technologies. SCSRT will encourage organizations to earn money by providing services and consultancy in sustainable rural technologies.

In case of Partner Organization, SCSRT will provide the service and will monitor it from beginning to end. Partner Organizations will enjoy technology transfer benefits and can access all data present with SCSRT. The Partner Organization has to sign the Non-Disclosure Agreement with SCSRT. SCSRT will not take established organizations as Partner Organizations. The Partner Organization should start industry with the help of Technology from Sevas Educational Society. All Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) used in the manufacturing should exactly follow as per the technology transfer guidelines. Partner organizations will be given bulk product orders from Sevas Educational Society.

SCSRT Volunteer Programme

SCSRT volunteer programme was started to bring enthusiastic people into algal technology research and rural development. SCSRT volunteer programme helps students, faculty, scientists, corporate, entrepreneurs and researchers who want to gain hand-on work experience and engage themselves into a SCSRT services. Some are experienced professionals who desire to diversify their experience in working for a local NGO. Regardless of their motivations and backgrounds, they all share a common goal of bringing a better life for poor rural communities and have made a significant contribution to the growth of the organization.

All of SCSRT’s volunteers have been important resources to our operations. The SCSRT’s volunteer program is designed to enable volunteers to get involved in all aspects of our work. It offers volunteer chances to learn how local NGOs operate and how community development projects run. Volunteers attain technical knowledge by taking part in our project activities in various fields: sustainable agricultural, climate change, and advocacy, etc. On a grass roots basis, they work with many different ethnic communities and a range of stakeholders. SCSRT provides our volunteers with a great work experience that will prepare them to for a professional career at other reputable organizations.

Finally, given the diversity of our volunteers and their unique abilities, SCSRT is committed to take great care in placing them in specific departments that will best utilize their abilities and help them flourish. We are always open to the opportunities to establish long-term partnership with volunteer organizations and highly appreciate their efforts to facilitate volunteers’ placement at SCSRT.

If you are interested in volunteering at SCSRT, please send your CV and cover letter to In the cover letter you must state your areas of interest, how long you will be able to work for us and explain which areas you are interested to work in. Applicants are not liable for any payment when applying for volunteer positions at SCSRT.


Funding for private accommodations i.e. airfare and housing will not be provided by SCSRT. You must request funding from outside organizations to fund your private transportation and living expenses. Although, SCSRT will pay a nominal daily fixed pay when you are on field trips. And all expenses related to the field trip will be covered. SCSRT will give full access to our facilities and available resources.
